Construction Information

Construction in your Neighborhood? Here are some FAQs

Why are crews working in my area?

Broadlinc is the Spokane Regional Broadband Development Authority, a public entity established under Washington State law (RCW 35.21.730–.755) to support the development and expansion of broadband infrastructure throughout Spokane County.

As part of this mission, Broadlinc, its contractors, and its utility partners may perform construction activities within public rights-of-way, utility easements, and other authorized locations where broadband infrastructure is permitted to be installed, operated, maintained, repaired, and upgraded.

How can I sign up for a connection?

Depending on the technology planned for your location (fiber or Next Generation Fixed Wireless), you may need to complete an access waiver for future construction. This is not a commitment to construction or internet service, but lets Broadlinc know you are interested and allows us to determine when your property is eligible for connection.

Register your property and complete a waiver here.

What are rights-of-way and utility easements?

Rights-of-way and utility easements are legally established areas that allow public entities like Broadlinc, utilities, and other authorized infrastructure providers to construct and maintain facilities that serve the public.

These areas often extend beyond the paved roadway and may include portions of property frontage adjacent to private property. Construction activities are conducted pursuant to applicable easements, permits, licenses, franchise agreements, and other legal authorizations.

Does this mean broadband service is coming to my home?

Broadlinc is actively working to expand reliable, high-speed internet access across Spokane County. The timing and type of service available at a specific property will vary as our network continues to expand.

Depending on the location and project design, service may be delivered through fiber or Next Generation Fixed Wireless. In some areas, new fiber infrastructure also supports fixed wireless service, so fiber construction nearby does not necessarily mean fiber will extend directly to every home.

As projects move forward, service availability and connection options for individual addresses will be communicated through Broadlinc and our participating internet service providers.
